But these promised savings from migrating workloads to the cloud have failed to appear. In fact, many face the opposite problem: surging costs.
Clouds for IT infrastructure are so popular lately that moving into the cloud has become a trend. Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) cloud provides multiple advantages: flexibility, low time for deployment, easy scaling, instant presence in many regions of the world, and many others.
Late 2022 David Heinemeier Hansson, owner of 37 signals (Basecamp etc.) wrote an interesting and honest article on Cloud overspendings. His conclusion, Renting computers is (mostly) a bad deal for medium-sized companies like ours with stable growth, was a clear and honest view on cloud spendings.
